Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 May 2026

We wrote this in plain English on purpose. Privacy policies shouldn't need a law degree to read, and your logbook shouldn't come with surprises. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version:

  • We collect what we need to run your logbook and keep the app working.
  • We do not sell or rent your data. Ever.
  • Your flight data is yours. Export it or delete it whenever you want.
  • We use a few trusted services (cloud hosting, analytics, app-store billing) to make LogAir work, and nothing more.

This summary is for convenience. The full policy below is what actually governs.

1. WHO WE ARE

LogAir is a digital pilot logbook made by Flabbergast Agency, Zavrtnica 17, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia ("Flabbergast", "we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions? Email info@logair.app.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

2.1 Account data: your email address and the name you give us (first/last or pilot name).

2.2 Flight data: everything you log, including dates and times, aircraft, departure and arrival airports, crew names (co-pilots, instructors, examiners), ratings and recency information, and your notes.

2.3 Imported data: when you batch-import from airlines, flight shares, or other logbooks, we process the records you bring in.

2.4 Usage data: how you interact with the app and website, such as events, performance data, pages visited, and the time, date, and length of your sessions.

2.5 Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, unique device identifiers, and diagnostic data.

2.6 Third-party data you enter: you may enter information about other people (crew, instructors, examiners). You are responsible for having a lawful basis to do so.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

  • Provide and run the Service: keep your logbook working, sync across your devices, generate exports and reports, and calculate totals, night time, limits, and recency.
  • Manage your account and subscription.
  • Improve LogAir: analytics, fixing bugs, and improving performance.
  • Communicate with you about your account or important updates.
  • Meet our legal obligations.

4. LEGAL BASES (GDPR)

  • Performance of a contract: your account, flight data, and subscription.
  • Legitimate interests: improving and securing the Service and analytics, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
  • Consent: where we ask for it (for example, marketing emails). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: accounting and tax records, and responding to lawful requests.

5. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We use trusted service providers (processors) that act on our instructions and are bound by GDPR-compliant agreements:

  • Cloud hosting and sync: secure cloud infrastructure providers store and sync your data.
  • Analytics: PostHog and Google Analytics, to understand usage and improve the app.
  • Payments and subscriptions: the Apple App Store and Google Play handle billing. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
  • Support tooling: to handle your requests.

We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights. If Flabbergast is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.

6. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

We aim to store and process your data within the EU/EEA. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA (for example, Google), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

7. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

  • Active accounts: while your account is active, we keep your data to run the Service.
  • Flight logs after inactivity: if you stop using LogAir without deleting your account, we keep your logbook for up to 10 years so you can come back and recover your history. This is based on our legitimate interest in protecting your professional record. After a long period of inactivity we may email you to remind you the data exists, so you can choose to keep or delete it.
  • On deletion: when you delete your account or ask us to erase your data, we remove it from active systems promptly. Backup copies clear on our normal backup rotation.
  • Billing records: kept as required by Croatian accounting and tax law (currently up to 11 years).
  • Anonymized or aggregated analytics may be kept longer to improve the Service.

8. SECURITY

We use encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, access controls, regular backups, and continuous monitoring. No system is 100% secure, so we cannot promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and work hard at it.

9. YOUR RIGHTS (GDPR)

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your data (export to PDF or CSV), to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email info@logair.app or use the in-app tools. We will respond within 30 days and may verify your identity first.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr) or the supervisory authority where you live in the EU.

10. CHILDREN

LogAir is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a minor has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.

11. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Our website and app use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and collect anonymized usage statistics. You can control cookies through your browser or app settings.

12. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. The current version always lives at https://logair.app/privacy-policy.
